About 8tend

8tend is a mobile-first operational visibility platform for the organisations that schedule, supervise, and communicate around people — schools, sports clubs, churches, academies, tutoring centres, aftercare, and camps. We bring scheduling, attendance, and communication into one calm app, so the people who care most are never the last to know.

Why we built it

Running an organisation shouldn't feel like air traffic control. Today schedules live in one place, attendance in another, and communication is scattered across WhatsApp groups, paper registers, and half-filled spreadsheets. Parents are left refreshing chats and wondering where their child is. We thought that deserved something better.

What we believe

• Attendance has to be effortless. If marking takes more than a couple of taps, it won't happen. Everything else compounds from there.
• Parents deserve calm, not noise. Real-time visibility and targeted alerts — push and WhatsApp — beat 47 unread group messages every time.
• One app for the whole family. Parents link to their children, not to organisations — so one app covers every child, every activity, across as many organisations as they need.
• Organisations choose who pays. Free for community organisations whose parents fund premium visibility, or org-paid so everyone uses it free. Same product, your call.
